Neighborhood joint ..

Blowfish

http://www.blowfish101.com/

I like the logo of the restaurant, and have been meaning to try it.

Found out my friend works there and she claimed the food is good.

It's super close to home, so I hoped for the best.

Prices are normal.

The food, omfg . Not good at all. Seriously.

We had kappa roll, cali roll, vegetable teriyaki, gomae, yam fries

I had 4 pc nigiri : salmon, hokkigai, tai, hamachi

My friend had the miso soup as well

Everything was presentable and service was fine. It looks good but doesn't taste it.

Fish, not that fresh .. the vegetable wasn't fully cooked, the gomae too salty

My buddy said "This miso soup tastes like instant miso soup."

By far, the worst yam fries we've ever had. How do you fuck that up ? lol

The kappa roll was the best tasting thing outta all this. -_-" but I've had better.

Actually the tofu that came with the vegetable teriyaki wasn't bad ..

But I won't be back there ..

Also, they don't have fugu (BLOWFISH) there .. or at least I didn't see it on the menu.

it doesn't have to be expensive ..

raw restaurant ..

Organic Lives

1829 Quebec St. Vancouver, across the street from Mario's Gelato.

http://www.organiclives.org/cafe_menu

My first time at a raw restaurant.

I ordered the lasagna and my friend had the thai coconut soup. We also had nori rolls to start .. Very delicious. I woulda added chilli peppers or hot sauce to the lasagna though.

I really need to find a raw food friend ..

I'm definitely gonna go back, I wanna try the zugghetti and pizza as well.

I was looking at reviews, and people seemed to either hate it or love it. I think it's just because of bad timing.

There's another raw place called Gorilla, I will go try that too eventually.

The Case of the ..

mistaken identity ..

So I was the maid of honor at my friend's wedding two days ago .. after the dinner, I swapped numbers with a guy called Mike. Then I went to the after party to drink and got hammered. I ended up with another number called Michael.

The next day, I text messaged Michael to go drink. He said sure, and then I grabbed a few girl friends and met him and his friends up.

I walk in down the corridor and there's a guy.

I say, "Yo is Michael in there?"
Him: "I am Michael .."
Me: "Huh?? OHH, Hey what's up"
Him: "You don't remember my face?"
Me: "Sorry I was super drunk yesterday .."
Me: "Let's drink ! =D"

I mistakenly texted the wrong guy, I thought I was meeting up Mike the entire time ..

I told my girl friends in the bathroom and they cracked up.

Her: "Only you can pull off something like this XD"
Me: " -_-" "

Anyways, I rolled with it and it turned out to be a pretty fun night =)

But seriously, I'm such a retard sometimes haha .. this May long weekend has been quite eventful, unfortunately I didn't make it up to Whistler .. Oh well, there's always next week.

My forever love ..

LINKIN PARK !!

Blackbird Lyrics

[Mike Shinoda freestyle]

Drop the mic, get up
Take to the streets
Of Iraq, yeah, get up
Face full of teeth
When it's hot, yeah, spit up
Tasting the beat
Like a beast

Rock on your block oversea

Speak from your gut
Like a rush of blood
Paint red on the stage
To the ones above
Lay the sick ones down
And the bells will ring
Put pennies on the eyes
Let the dead men sing

[Chester]

I shiver and shake
Through warm air cold
I'm alone
On my own
In every mistake
I dig this hole
Through my skin
And bones

It's harder starting over
Then never to have changed

With blackbirds following me
I'm digging out my grave
They close in swallowing me
The pain it comes in waves
I'm getting back what I gave

I sweat through the sheets
As daylight fades
As I waste
Away
It traps me inside
Mistakes I've made
That's the price
I pay

It's harder starting over
Than never to have changed

With blackbirds following me
I'm digging out my grave
They close in swallowing me
The pain it comes in waves
I'm getting back
What I gave

[Mike Shinoda]

I drop to the floor
Like I did before
Stop watching I'm coughing
I can't be more
What I want what I need
Over constant war
Like a well full of poison
A rotten core
The blood goes thin
The fever stings
And I shake from the hell
That the habits bring
Lay the sick ones down
The bells will ring
Put pennies on the eyes
Let the dead men sing

[Chester]

Blackbirds following me
I'm digging out my grave
They close in swallowing me
The pain it comes in waves
I'm getting back
What I gave

I'm getting back
What I gave

I'm getting back
What I gave

the key to anything is ..

positive thinking .

I like this girl's attitude.

Fuck planning, just do .

explained :

The Simplicity of Mono Meal Living .

http://www.fruitgod.com/thesimplicityof.html

I've never thought about it like this .. but I agree that is the way to go .

We humans eat many different varieties of food within one meal.

"One thing that the raw movement is fond of stating is that no animal in nature cooks its food. Well no animal puts together a vast number of raw foodstuffs either. I have seen raw recipes with over 15 ingredients in them but never a deer with a mixing bowl in its hoof."

The reason this article spoke to me, was because I haven't been able to explain or look at it from this perspective .. but it made me realize this is the reason why I don't like to eat out.

People in my life, constantly say let's go eat .. Cactus Club, Earles, Milestones, Sammy J Peppers, etc. I never wanna go because I actually don't like the food. They try to incorporate too many flavors into one plate of food. Therefore, taking away the flavor of the individual food that I would have rather been eating. Actually those restaurants are just examples, but FUSION food is what I really don't agree with. It's not that I find it to be terrible tasting, in fact a lot of it is pretty good .. but always not up to par. It never hits the spot or is just missing that little something (vice versa) , I now understand why.

My taste buds prefer the single fresh live taste of whatever it is I'm eating, rather than a shitload of stuff mixed together fighting to reach the right part of your tongue. But then again, that's just me.

Mono Meals, taking raw food to a whole new level.

Let's reach for the stars.

My super lazy ..

turkey omelet .

1 egg (80cal)
2 slices turkey (40cal)
1/2 slice fat free cheese (15cal)
cilantro
black pepper

Total: 135 calories

Crack the egg into a microwavable bowl and whip it with chopsticks, rip up the cheese and throw it in, add the cilantro and black pepper. Mix it a bit and then microwave for 30 seconds. Take it out, mix it again .. try to get the raw egg to the side and the cooked egg in the middle. Microwave for another 20 seconds. Use the turkey as a wrap and eat right away.

Took about 5 minutes.

Edit : To be even more healthy, skip the cheese, use only egg whites and one slice of turkey instead of two.

2 egg whites (40cal)
1 slice turkey (20cal)
cilantro
black pepper
Total : 60 calories

wow ..

maybe there's hope after all ..

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freetown_Christiania

Freetown, what I've always dreamed of .. exists ?? =O

It was an experiment that started in the 70s, has been going on for 30 years. The government wants to shut it down .. I hope that doesn't happen.

I should immigrate there, build my own house and sell drugs for a living. lol

No laws, taxes, 9-5 job bullshit .. and the one thing I hate most, "normal" society.

Just .. wow.

Interesting ..

Benefits of living a life away from society .. ?

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/745127/famous_recluses_and_the_benefits_of.html?cat=12

I found this article quite interesting .. since I am constantly saying how I wanna live by myself away from everything.

What do you think ?

Simple, Quick & Easy !

Thai Beef Stir - Fry

3 oz sirloin, cut into strips (175cal)
1 red chilli pepper
1 tbs oyster sauce (9cal)
1/2 shallot (3.5cal)
cilantro
vegetable cooking spray

Defrost the beef cut of your choice. I like sirloin best.

Cut up chilli pepper, shallot and cilantro.

Spray your pan with 0 calorie cooking spray, and put on stove. When it starts to sizzle, throw in chilli pepper, shallot and beef. Stir for about 3 min, just until the outsides are brown. Add the oyster sauce, make sure it coats all the beef. Stir it around for a bit .. until its cooked. Throw in fresh basil or cilantro.

Eat right away.

Next time, I'll try with basil and lime.

That took about 5 min to prep and 5 min to cook. Super simple and a good side dish.

I'm fucking amazed ..

Zughetti .

1 cucumber, peeled and shredded into linguine like pieces (34cal)

Sauce:
1 tomato (36cal)
1 tbs cilantro
1/2 tbs green onion (1cal)
1/2 shallot (3.5cal)
1/2 red chilli pepper
4 ml lemon juice
dash dry basil
salt & pepper to taste
splash tabasco

Total: 75 calories or so.

Well, after talking about making this since forever .. I finally got off my ass and did it.

I went out to eat cooked food last night and I'm completely grossed out at the aftermath, the feeling is terrible.

I woulda made more sauce, except I only had one tomato in the fridge..

I wish I had sun dried tomatoes too and a red bell pepper, next time I shall. Oh and garlic .. which I'm allergic to, but a little won't hurt lol

After I sliced the cucumber manually, (I really need to go buy a veggie shredder) I looked for raw recipes for a sauce. And this is what I ended up making ..

Seriously, totally amazed at how good it is. That's it, I'm quitting Michelina's lol

For you people who like a sweeter sauce, add a dried date or 1/4 tbs of honey. Also, fresh basil is the way to go .. but dry is all I have at the moment. Most recipes I found said to use 1 tsp of olive oil, but I decided to cut that out.

Just multiply the ingredients for more sauce if you need it, it should be eaten right away because the tomato will water down with time .. and surprisingly one tomato was enough for the entire cucumber. Made 2 servings.

So all you gotta do is blend all the ingredients together for the sauce, drizzle over the cucumber noodles .. (I know it says Zughetti, but I like cucumber better) and eat!

Garnish with more cilantro and green onion.

Enjoy !
