i love salad ..

basil, cilantro, red onion ..

3 large iceberg lettuce leaves (6cal)
1/4 red onion sliced (10cal)
basil leaves
cilantro
1/2 tomato (18cal)
1/8 yellow bell pepper (12.5cal)
1 japanese cucumber (10cal)
seasoning salt
black pepper
lime juice

Total Calories : 56.5

Okay so I feel absolutely terrible, I've had bbq food 4 days in a row for like 3 weeks now -_-" .. and I'm headed to another in a bit.

But, so far today I've only had vegetables and fruit and gonna try to keep it that way.

So wash all your veggies, rip lettuce into bite size pieces and put in your salad bowl. Rip and add some basil, cilantro in. Add cucumber slices, cubed tomato, yellow bell pepper and red onion. Dash seasoning salt, black pepper and lime juice for taste. Toss and mix well.

You can eat it like that or have fat free dressing on the side and just dip in a few pieces of vegetables when you think it starts to taste bland. I like to use Kraft's fat free Italian and put alotta Grace hot pepper sauce in. I don't really eat salads with dressing..makes it soggy.

Absolutely delicious, I love the flavors of each diff vegetable.

Cheers

Really easy ..

Tomato Beef Soup

2 oz beef cubes (116.67cal)
1/2 tomato (18cal)
2 shiitake mushrooms (20cal)
1 tbs tomato paste (13cal)
red onion
seasoning salt
pepper
worcheshire sauce
fresh basil
lime juice
sukiyaki soy sauce
1 red chilli pepper

Defrost steak and cut into cubes. Dash seasoning salt, black pepper, worcheshire sauce and sukiyaki soy sauce on it and mix well.

Put one cup water in a pot on a stove on high heat, put in shiitake mushrooms, cubed tomato, half of the sliced red onion and beef cubes.

Let it simmer for a little bit, stir in the tomato paste and add some basil leaves.

When it looks done, pour into a bowl and garnish with the rest of the red onion and basil, add black pepper to taste. Also chop the red chilli pepper in half and throw that in for flavor. Sprinkle lime juice in and enjoy !

The soup should be thickened from the tomato paste and not watery.

Taylor Momsen ..

The Pretty Reckless

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eT3KPKR00qo

Isn't it odd how things are ?

I went to The Veronicas Concert when they came to Vancouver, and The Pretty Reckless opened for them.

At the time I had no idea who Taylor Momsen was but I thought she was pretty good.

I follow the show Gossip Girl and it turns out she plays the character Jenny Humphrey !

Anyhow, she has a new fan ! =)

My low calorie,

Pizza Toast ..

whole wheat grain bread (50cal per slice)
1tbs tomato paste (10cal)
slice of tomato (9cal)
slice of fat free cheese (30cal)
slice of turkey (20cal)
basil
oregano
paprika
1/16 red bell pepper, chopped (6.25cal)
mushroom
black pepper
red chilli pepper
seasoning salt
cilantro
shallots
0 calorie vegetable cooking spray

Total : Under 130 calories

I woke up thinking about pizza today .. -_-"

but a slice of pizza probably equals to my entire day's calorie intake.

So this is what I came up with.

1) Toast bread in bread toaster
2) Preheat toaster oven to 400-425 degrees
3) Wash and chop all veggies
4) Line baking pan with tin foil and spray with cooking spray
5) Put 1 tbs of tomato paste on each slice of bread, spread it nicely .. then dash basil, oregano, paprika
6) Put chopped shallots, red bell pepper, mushroom on (I only used 1/3 of one mushroom so its probably one calorie or so lol)
7) Add slice of tomato, dash seasoning salt, black pepper, red chilli peppers and add sprinkle on cilantro.
8) Rip up turkey into small pieces and put a few on the tomato, put the slice of cheese on and put the rest of the turkey on top
9) Put on the center of the baking sheet and take it to the oven.

Okay, I forgot to check what time I put it in, so in the process of it .. I just kept poking at the tomato to see whether it was cooked through yet, and one side of the bread was beginning to burn so I turned it around to even it out.

Those two pictures are the actual pictures I took from my phone, I should see to investing in a camera soon though.

Anyways, it was a delicious meal.

Enjoy !

Well the first 6 days, my calorie intake that I took down was incorrect, so I'm gonna do a 25 day review instead.

Yaay, I achieved my goal. I think I can do even better though.. and I'm gonna try to cut back on the beer. Lol

Reviving memories ..

New Brighton Park

I took a walk yesterday at my favorite park, where I pretty much grew up. The endless summer days spent there as a child. The crazy "I can't sleep let's go for a walk at 5am" days I still have now after a night of partying..

Bike riding at 3am after an early night of drinking.. hopping over the fence and into the pool in the middle of the night for a chilly swim, stoned XD ..

Drinking at 7am on the teeter totter while playing chai mui.. or just going for a stroll and taking it all in.. oh and I can't forget all the sunrises I've seen here over the years (the picture above is from my phone one morning) ..

It was so lovely, blue skies, warm sunshine .. nice to get a breathe of fresh air (well as fresh as it gets..)

There were people fishing ..

and I can't wait to go tanning at the outdoor pool !

Life doesn't get any better than this ..

lotsa sauces ..

with lotsa corn !

Note: When I say butter or margarine, it means I'm using Becel's 67% less fat margarine.

Hmm, so I went grocery shopping the other day and bought some corn.

I thought, how can I make it more interesting instead of just the usual butter and salt ?

So this is my corn experiment ..

From the left top row: Honey glazed w/margarine on top, 2 different hot sauces w/margarine on top and a few drops of tabasco sauce, butter glazed w/seasoning salt and paprika, butter glazed w/salt, pepper and oregano

Honey: Tastes like normal corn
Hot sauce: Mmm, this one is really good if you can handle the spicyness .. which I love.
Seasoning salt & Paprika: By far my favorite so far !
Salt, pepper, oregano: Tastes really normal, nothing special.

Second row from the left: Mashed cherry sauce, mayonnaise glazed w/black pepper and margarine on top, teriyaki glazed, strawberry jam

Cherry sauce: Tastes like normal corn
Mayonnaise glaze: Not bad, better than expected..
Teriyaki glaze: This one's tasty, but I like teriyaki stir fry vegetables better
Strawberry Jam: This one is quite tasty, would have been better if I brushed more on during the roasting process..such a nice flavor.

Third row from the left: Butter glazed w/seasoning salt, a chilli oil and soy sauce mix

Butter w/ seasoning salt: My dad's friend walked in and I offered him it..I didn't ask how it tastes lol
Chilli Oil: Not bad as well, but no where close to good as the hot sauce one.

I preheated the oven to 350 degrees, covered a pan with tinfoil, sprayed it with 0 calorie vegetable spray and arranged the corn on top. Now it's cooking in the oven .. for 40 minutes, or until that I see it's done.

Hopefully it turns out well .. will update this later .

I'd say it turned out pretty well.. I might experiment with pineapple next.
